Children will be present in the audience. Keep all content, gestures, acts and visuals to PG-13. No explicit sexual references, gestures, abusive language or swearing will be allowed. Any act that violates this or any rule in the Thy Geekdom Con Attendee Rules will be disqualified and potentially removed from the stage.

No fire, flame, smoke, fog, dry ice, wind machines, lasers, pressurized gases or liquids.
If your costume is determined to be too skimpy, or inappropriate for children, you will be asked to cover the offending portion before participating in the contest. If you do not comply you will not be able to participate and may be asked to leave the convention.
Do not leave debris, props, scenery, or costumes on stage that cannot be removed as you exit.
If you are doing a skit, consider your audience and try to make jokes that would be funny to people who know your source material and to those who don’t. Performances will be judged on entertainment and a lot of inside jokes may not prove very funny to everyone.
We will judge you based on entertainment, how clean your performance is, your choreography, and ‘fun’. Really, try to have fun and be entertaining. Craftsmanship of your costume is NOT an aspect we will judge on. There are also no skill divisions for out Masquerade.
Awards will be announced and handed out shortly after the masquerade, after the judges deliberate.
The Masquerade Coordinators have full authority to request a change to a costume or skit for any reason. Refusal to make the requested change will disqualify the person or group from the competition.
